Why a workshop?

Philip Morgan

Here's a bit more detail on the workshop I'm running next month.I've got a few seats left at $800 (before  Apply here: https://calendly.com/philipmorgan/20m-call-to-check-for-workshop-fit)It's worth asking... why do this as a workshop? Why not a less expensive "self-study" course or ebook?Basically, this email from a previous workshop participant answers that question pretty well:I know that image is probably unreadable, so here's the full text of that email:------Hi Philip,I got a lot out of today’s webinar, much more so than when I went through similar, self-study exercises in The Positioning Course.I’ve been reflecting on why today was such a “breakthrough” or “epiphany” for me.The conclusion that I’ve come to is that I just need a lot of hand-holding.Having the extra attention and the extra feedback on the exercise we completed seemed to be the key for me.It occurred to me that there might be other people in a similar boat and, if there are, maybe this could be a new rung on your product ladder between the (self-study) Positioning Course and the one-on-one coaching.By “this”, I mean a multi-week workshop version of The Positioning Course for groups of five with live mentoring by you.Just a thought. Thanks again for offering the workshop today.Lee Carter------There are a few additional reasons I think a workshop may be a good use of your money right now:👉 Accountability: Those live meetings on Wednesdays will create a subtle pressure for you to do the work. I know full well how the absence of a deadline feels great at first, but it leads to procrastination which leads to... perpetuating the status quo. Feeling like you've got skin in the game can help you overcome the status quo and start moving towards changing your business for the better.👉 Granularity: A book or course is divided up into chapters, modules, lessons, or other subdivisions. Good. But there's often not an effective linear "do this now, don't even think about that until later" kind of structure. Some courses do have that kind of structure, but books are often totally lacking that kind of sequenced learning. This workshop does have that kind of structure, and the granular nature of how the content will be dripped out helps you avoid overwhelm.👉 Expert assistance: Finally, I'm here with you every step of the way through this workshop. If you get stuck on anything you'll have fast-enough access to me through the private Discourse forum, and to dig deeper into questions or places where you need a judgement call, we have the live meetings on Wednesdays at 9am Pacific. So you'll get more support than you would from a book or self-study course. Here are the workshop details:There are 7 seats total. The regular price is $800 per seat but...There are 3 "previous customer only" seats priced at $500. Three of those have sold as of today, so zero left in that price range.**There are 2 seats left.**Here's what you're getting when you buy:√ A 4-week online workshop.√ Meetings are held using Zoom.us at 9am to 10am Pacific time (convert that to your local time here) on Wednesdays (March 7, March 14, March 21, and March 28--all those meetings are in March, 2018). These are not webinars. They are actual live meetings where you can ask any and all questions by just talking directly to me.√ Access to a private Discourse forum for Q&A and discussion between meetings.√ Videos to teach you the important concepts you need to know before each live workshop session√ 1 Year of continued access to workshop materials (videos, tools, etc.) in case you want to revisit them later√ A small group environment that should help introverts feel comfortable participatingBonus: You'll get the Complete Bundle of The Positioning Manual for Technical Firms for no extra cost.If you'd like to reserve your seat now, there's a simple application process:Schedule a 20-minute call with me to check for fit: https://calendly.com/philipmorgan/20m-call-to-check-for-workshop-fit (I've opened my calendar waaay up to make sure you can find a convenient time)During the call I'll ask a few questions to make sure you are likely to get a good ROI from this workshop and answer any questions you may have.If we both agree it's a good fit I'll send you a payment link. You can find a web page summary of this workshop here: /specialization-school/part-1-decision-making-workshop/Want help improving your positioning or marketing?
